About the Role:

The Sales Training Manager is primarily responsible for supporting Corporate Accounts sales training activities which include onboarding, sales skills training and continuing education.  Secondarily, this role supportsonboarding for our broader Corporate Accounts and Healthcare Solutions (CAHCS) team with the goal of maximizing sales partner effectiveness.

 

The CAHCS Sales Training team creates quality, relevant, and engaging learning solutions for our field sales directors and managers, as well as supports the onboarding process for our strategy, pricing and contracting and ADVANTICS healthcare solutions team members.  We empower a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing through virtual and live interactions with the sales organization and key cross functional teams.

Your Responsibilities include:

 

With direction from the Corporate Sales Training Leader, the Manager of Sales Training leads the design, development and delivery of field onboarding, sales skills training and continuing education.  The Sales Training Manager optimizes the sales person’s learning and proficiency through the effective coaching and application of learning. This individual will have a unique and challenging opportunity to work in an organization that serves all (currently seven) business units and leadership teams across Boston Scientific.  This in-house position is U.S. based and positioned in Maple Grove, MN. 

The Field Sales Training Manager is integrated into the Sales culture and works together with the sales team to coach and elevate sales effectiveness primarily during the initial year of training and then through skills training and continuing education as needed.   The Field Sales Manager also works closely with subject matter experts and divisional leaders at all levels; therefore, must exhibit the ability to persuasively communicate ideas and tactical execution plans in an effective manner. The ability to consistently align, seek feedback and collaborate with those involved in the delivery of training is a critical success factor.

 

 

  • Full instructional design including:  needs assessment, training design and development, delivery, and evaluation
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with subject matter experts in the development of new training content
  • Maintain new and existing curriculum
  • Facilitate training and provide coaching, influence and communicate across multiple levels of the organization
  • Partner in semi-annual sales events; participate in design and delivery of content as needed
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create and package high-value, easy-to-use sales training offerings
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and produce high quality results with attention to detail
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, to meet the field’s professional development objectives

 

What we are looking for in you:

 

  • Proven work experience as a sales trainer, training facilitator and coordination of multiple training events in a corporate setting
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization including Sales Operations, Pricing & Contracting, Sales Training, Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA), Product Marketing & Development, and Healthcare Solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory and implementation
  • Extensive knowledge of sales skills, processes and methodologies
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
  • Design, manage and drive continuous improvement of the onboarding program for the sales organization to teach a broad range of sales skills, sales process, and product knowledge
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Excellent listening, presentation, organizational, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail; ability to manage timelines
  • Proven strong collaborative and influencing skill

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Adult Education or related field
  • 6+ years of professional sales training experience
  • Strong proficiency with all Microsoft Office and online learning applications (i.e. WebEx), advanced PowerPoint skills and Brainshark
  • Demonstrated skills in effectively conducting training in the following forums: one-on-one, classroom or virtual learning utilizing web conferencing tools, Adobe Connect, and other tools
  • Working knowledge and interest in the evolving healthcare landscape  
  • 10-20% travel required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Corporate Visions instructional models
  • Experience with SalesForce and associated Learning Management System’s
  • Previous sales experience
